A great photo of René Ligonnet at Le Mans in 1972, I found this in the latest issue of Escappement Classic Magazine no. 56. René wrote a really good piece for them about our run at Le Mans in 1972 with the Kodak Lola T290. The first Lola ever to finish the 24 hours race. Bravo René.

1966 Broadspeed Mini GT
I found this April 1966 Car and Car Conversions Magazine with the first road test of a Broadspeed Mini, which I once owned. This was the most wonderful little car in which I did several long Continental journeys. Broadspeed really made a great job on their conversion to a standard 1275 Mini Cooper S. The engine was enlarged to 1293cc. One of the best changes was to lengthen the final drive giving it a real cruising speed of 80 mpg possible. I bought the car from my friend and local dealer Ken Cheshire and paid about £950 if my memory serves me correctly.Happy Days in EOP89D.

Rare photo of Barrie in F3 Martini 1969.
Barrie lines up to overtake Mo Nunn in the works Lotus 59 F3 car at Woodcote. This was a very wet race and Barrie’s Chevron B9 only ever went well in the wet. Here at Silverstone he practice time was about 32 of 36 starters and Barrie finished 7th overall. At the start of this race it was very wet and viability was poor. The start was manic.
