Here is the podium for the Danish Grand Prix 1969. L-R Guy Edwards, second, Chevron B8, Barrie first,Chevron FVA, Bill Bradley 3rd in his Porsche 906.

Due to an oversight there are no photos of the B8 FVA winning in Denmark in 1969 so here it is.

Here is a great photo from 7th June 1969 thanks to Christian Courtel. This is the cobbled hairpin at Montlhery circuit near Paris. The photo is of our Chevron B8 with the Cosworth 1600cc FVA engine.Sorry but I do not remember the result but I finished.

Here is my old friend Alan Fowler with his son Justin. If you dig deep you will find photos of Alan racing his Mercury GT on this site. We used to see Alan most week-ends in the 1960s and have keep in touch over the years. His son Justin is a fine engineer, who I have known since he was a little boy, amazing what three Weetabix a day will do for a boy !

Here are some great old cars we had in stock in 1967. I remember the Aston Martin DB5 as I took my Dad and a friend down to Torremolinos southern Spain in it. I recall that the DB5 was an excellent tourer with a boot big enough for us three and it would cruise all day at 120 + mph. No speed limits in those days. The long fast straight roads through the Lande forest in S.W.France were made for fast motoring. Happy Days !

This the prize giving at Meribel where my time of exactly 8.00m put me in second place.This was not a bad result as I was only beaten by a local guy by just 1/10 sec. and my mistake in the first kilometer must have cost me 5 or 6 seconds. Anyway I won the prize for being the first foreign competitor home, that was because I was the only foreign competitor !

Meribel was a very challenging hillclimb, 18kms. from the valley to Meribel 1600m. I nearly spun in the 1st kilometer and had to stop and put the Lola back into 1st gear and set off again. We geared the car for 140 mph which was a daunting speed on that narrow, bumpy mountain road. My time was 8.00m For any of you who have skied in Meribel the coach journey takes about 45 minutes which sort of puts the 8.00m time in prospective. Anyway it was a fun week-end which I remember well. It is where I met Marie-Therese, my wife of over 40 years.

Fine collection of cars at the hill climb of Urcy, a very difficult road which was hard to learn if you were not a local. Driving up once or twice in a Bedford van was really not enough. I think it was my worst result in French events in 1972. It was a lovely location but very unforgiving road so I was not driving at ten tenths that day ! However the contrast of cars in this scene made an interesting photo 40 years on. 2CV, Renault 16 and a period Mercedes, plus our Lola T290 in Le Mans trim !
